14* sts x 23 rows in an open eye stitch pattern on 4 mm / US 6 needle = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches, measured after blocking. * – stitches that are visible on the finished fabric and can be counted individually.
Note: since the stitch pattern is worked as a 4-stitch repeat, but the repeat appears as only 3 sts on the finished fabric, when measuring stitch gauge, it is more accurate to count number of repeats rather than individual stitches. Stitch gauge: 4 pattern repeats measures 8.5 cm / 3.5”.
Needles
4 mm / US 6 circular needles
Other notions: crochet hook, scrap yarn. Optional: tear-shaped beads, thin elastic or an elastic thread of matching color.
Materials
Materials: recommended 150 (200) g of Tynn Line by Sandnes Garn (50 g = 220 m / 241 yds).

3/5 or advanced beginner. Required skills: working lace pattern, reading charts, provisional cast-on.
Workflow
Wideyed poncho is worked sideways, in one continuous piece. Firstly, starting with provisional cast-on technique, the narrow panel (that wraps around the body and the right arm, and creates a neck opening) will be worked. Then, opposite ends of this long panel will be joined side by side to continue working the wide panel (that will drape over the left arm).
