About pattern

Demi hat is a sister design to the Demi mittens, together creating the Demi set.

This low-profile beanie shares the same features as the Demi mittens: a stripy garter-stitch brim, two different sides, and that same playful vibe to brighten up your winter outfit. It’s a very quick and satisfying knit — a great pattern not only for stash-busting, but also for palate-cleansing after a big knitting project.

Workflow

Demi hat is worked entirely flat. First, the brim of the hat is worked sideways in garter stitch using both colors and is joined to create a tube using Kitchener stitch. Then, stitches are picked up from the brim, and one side of the hat is worked in color A. After that, the other side of the hat is worked in color B. Lastly, the hat is sewn at the side edges using mattress stitch.
