About pattern

This boxy, slightly oversized jumper features a zig-zag slip stitch pattern across the entire garment. Its construction is a simple dropped shoulder, giving it that boyish, ’90s vibe. The busy pattern is neatly framed by solid ribbing and i-cord details. Karol sweater is not only a perfect stash buster, but also a surprisingly addictive and playful project to knit.

Workflow

Karol sweater is worked from the top down. Colorwork parts of the sweater are worked flat, and all the ribbing parts (neckline, hem and cuffs) are worked in the round. Each new panel is joined with the sweater when picking up stitches and the only seams are the side seams of the body and sleeves. At first, front and back of the body will be worked flat, where you will follow the chart for the neck shaping, and stopping right before the hem. Then sleeves will be picked up from the body and worked flat until the cuff. After that, sweater will be sewn together at the sides, and finished with the hem and cuffs, which are worked in the round. Lastly, applied neckline will be worked in the round and sewn down to the inside.
