Kwaga hat

Kwaga Hat combines two-color brioche rib with bold zebra-print colorwork for a knit that’s as fun to make as it is to wear. The dense fabric is warm and structured, giving the hat its effortlessly hip vibe.

 

Sizing

one size, that fits head circumference of 55-57 cm / 21.6-22.4 inches

 

Gauge

24 stitches x 26 rounds in stockinette with stranded colorwork on a 4 mm (US 6) needles = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)

12 stitches x 25 rounds in two color brioche on a 4 mm (US 6) needles = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)

 

Needles

4 mm (US 6) / 40 cm (16 inches) circular needles or double pointed needles and

5 mm (US 8) / 40 cm (16 inches) circular needles (for long tail tubular cast on only)

 

Materials

50 g of Karisma by DROPS design (50 g = 100 m (109 yds)) in each color. In total: 100 g.

 

Level of difficulty

3/5 or advanced beginner. Required skills: long tail tubular cast on, two-color brioche, stranded colorwork in the round, decreasing.

 

Workflow

Hat is worked in the round and upwards, starting with two color brioche, then following the chart for stranded colorwork, finished with decreases for the crown of the hat.
